Should you upgrade to Windows Vista Now?

eSquare Says...

In the long run, Vista will be the main operating system residing on computers and laptops. A lot of this will be to do with the fact that at some point in the future you’ll no longer be able to get a new computer or laptop with Windows XP on it.

If you’re buying a new computer or laptop, then go for Vista.  Your only question then will be to consider which version suits your uses best.

For businesses, we would recommend waiting until at least the first service pack before considering any kind of upgrade. There’s no compelling benefit to having it NOW.

Key considerations for any Vista upgrade are:
  • Ensuring your hardware is up to the task of running Vista
  • Ensuring your software will run on Vista
